CitySwitch stimulates Zero Emission City Logistics
0%
In order to maintain a healthy and safe living environment, many cities are committed to creating lowtraffic and car-free zones. Zero Emission City Logistics is becoming the standard to make goods and services transport more sustainable. The Dutch Climate Agreement stipulates that at least 30 Dutch cities will have a Zero Emission Zone by 2025. CitySwitch helps achieve that by facilitating emission-free city distribution.
Advantages of
CitySwitch
1. Stimulating Zero Emission City Logistics.
Vehicles that are not emission-free can go there to transfer goods to cleaner transport, such as electric delivery vans or cargo bikes.
2. Greater road safety.
Fewer trucks in the city, less danger for cyclists and pedestrians in particular.
3. Space for entrepreneurs to grow.
At CitySwitch, several parties who need Last Mile Logistics come together in the same complex, where 2, 4, 6 or 8 units are located. The concept is scalable and off ers entrepreneurs space to grow in the long-term.
4. Fewer delivery vans in the city.
At a CitySwitch location, several companies are situated together, which usually serve the same catchment area. In the future, this will even off er the possibility of combining shipments from multiple parties in one delivery van. In this way, companies can lower their transport costs and also reduce their carbon footprint at the same time. It is up to the tenants to arrange this themselves, but CitySwitch does create the necessary facilities for it.
Circular entrepreneurship.
CitySwitch is circularly designed and runs on renewable energy sources. Goods distribution to the city becomes emission-free, but it also works the other way around: CitySwitch has the potential to become an important collection location for return fl ows and waste processing, for example, packaging materials or the return of e-waste after purchasing a new device.
Fully electric for full impact
- Recycling and upcycling. CitySwitch was designed in a circular manner, with 'design for re-use' as the starting point. At the end of its life, the building can be dismantled and the materials reused.
- Sustainable energy sources. There are solar panels on the roof and heat pumps are used for heating.
- Electric charging infrastructure. Each unit is equipped with an appropriate power supply and is technically prepared for electrical, emission-free transport.
Ambition
